Hi all, and Welcome to the 4th Let There Be Meat BBQ Competition and Expo.
The Show runs from Thursday to Saturday this year, and has 125,000+ people through the gates, and this year is lining up to be the best yet.

Day 1 – Wednesday 13th November 2024
- Bump in (set-up site) 6pm – 8pm (All vehicles must be offsite by 8pm)
Day 2 – Thursday 14th November 2024Â
- 6am Bump in (set-up site) Gates open at 6am, all teams must be set up by 730am
(VEHICLES REMOVED BY 730am – Parking onsite in carpark)
Day 3 – Friday 15th November 2024 – SCA Event
- 730am Team Briefing, Steak Selection & Hand in Box distribution
- 830am Cooking window opens
- *Judges Course 900am on site at the Judges Marquee
Hand In’s
- 11.00am – 11.30am – Steak A
- 1230 – 1.00pm – Steak B
- 2:30pm – 3:00pm – Desserts
- 3.30pm – 3.45pm – Steak C
- 4.30pm Awards
Day 3 (PM) – Friday 15th November 2024 – NZBA Event
- 5.00pm Site inspections for food safety & equipment
- 5.30pm Team Briefing & Hand in Box distribution
- 6pm Cooking window opens (teams onsite all night cooking if you wish)
Day 4 – Saturday 16th November 2024 – NZBA Event
*Judges Course 830am on site at the Judges Marquee
- 10am chicken (Open Chicken, any cut.)
- 11am Pork Ribs turn in (St Louis cut. A bone must be present in every rib)
- 12pm Pork turn in (PORK 2 – Shoulder, Neck or Boston Butt – all cuts skinless)
- 1pm Brisket turn in (Whole, Flat, Half, or Point sections)
- 2pm Lamb. (Open Lamb, any cut.)
- 3.30pm Awards
- 5pm Bump out After 6pm, and Sunday Morning 17th November 8-12pm (no vehicle movement prior)
Day 5 – Sunday 17th November 2024
- 8am Bump out (cleanup) 8-12pm
